Patron Announcement

We are delighted to introduce our new BCyA Patron, Dr. Alex George (A&E Doctor and TV Personality). Alex has been working in A&E as an emergency doctor throughout COVID-19 directly from the frontline.

Alex is on a mission to make mental health education compulsory in schools, and has become prolific throughout the UK in his campaigning and has also been appointed by the Prime Minsiter as Youth Mental Health Ambassador to the government.

Hand Delivered Medals

In a break from tradition, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, The British Citizen Award & The British Citizen Youth medals were delivered by courier to the deserving medalist. To make it as special as possible, medalists received a personalised video message from our Patrons and an invitation to The Palace of Westminster at a date yet to be decided. No medalist will miss out on the full British Citizen Award experience.

The British Citizen Award is proud to announce that founding sponsor Places for People has agreed to support the BCA for the whole of 2021. Our association with Places for People dates back to the very first British Citizen Award in January 2015.
